Have no fear, it’s normal for the SUB to make a noise while it’s cooling the Minikeg. It means the cooling fans are busy at work chilling your beer! During each pour, too, you may hear the compressor kick back on to keep up with consumption. It will quiet down once the beer is down to the correct temperature.
If you feel that the noise is excessive try the trouble-shooting tactics below.
- Make sure there are no obstructions around the base of the SUB Home Tap. It uses a fan to pull in the surrounding air and push out warm air; if the vents on the machine are blocked it cannot cool efficiently and the fans will work harder and be louder.
- Try a different outlet
- Wait at least 1 hour after inserting a Minikeg
- Unplug the SUB for 1 hour and then plug in again
We recommend storing all Minikegs in the fridge until ready to insert into the SUB.
If neither of these options sorts the problem out, please get in touch and we'll have a look for you!
