Have no fear, it’s normal for the SUB to make a noise while it’s cooling the Minikeg. It means the cooling fans are busy at work chilling your beer! It will quiet down once the beer is down to the correct temperature.
If you feel that the noise is excessive try the trouble-shooting tactics below.
- Make sure there are no obstructions around the base of the Sub Compact. It uses a fan to pull in surrounding air and push out warm air, if the vents on the machine are blocked it cannot cool efficiently and the fans will work harder and be louder.
- Try a different outlet
- Wait at least 1 hour after inserting a Minikeg
- Unplug the SUB for 1 hour and then plug in again
Also, keep in mind that if your issue relates to cooling time, the cooling process for unrefrigerated Minikegs may take up to 12 hours, as the SUB needs to work harder to bring the beer down to temperature. For faster serving, we recommend storing all Minikegs in the fridge.
If none of these steps work, please contact us using our support form and, if possible, include a video of your SUB malfunctioning.
